During my undergrad at UT I was inspired by the famous American architect Frank Llyod Wright who’s vision was so ahead of it’s time we still marvel at it today, and no doubt hereafter. His designs where the perfect depiction of hard lines, balancing with curvature and organic shapes, he called it “Organic Architecture“. Whether it was home design, furniture, or stained glass, Wright’s work expressed his uniquely undeniable understanding of balancing nature and man’s design. These Ceramic Sculptures were my own take on “Organic Architecture”.
“Sustained” was inspired by Florida mangrove swamps that grew wild roots. These roots seemed to grow without predictable direction, but in whole, it was a sight of entangled beauty. My vision of the future is one where nature always reclaims it’s territory.
Hello again dear Ryan. I’m starting another collaboration with my friend LeRoy and what I intended involved a weaving in and out somewhat similar to your work above with “Sustained” only not as earthy and most likely on a much smaller scale. You have a good energy – I say, continue enjoying.

Hi Mary! Thank you for taking a closer look at my work. This piece was great to work on, and I hope you and LeRoy also have a wonderful journey through your collaboration. I genuinely look forward seeing the WIP or the final turnout.
Thank you again Mary!
