Here’s a quick detailed shot of my recent metal sculpture. Inspired by the female body, this life-size sculpture has intricate details inside and out. Steel rods encage over 150 lbs. of black mexican polished beach rock. (she’s fancy.)
Thanks for taking a look, would love to hear your thoughts on her! Will post more photos and update here.
Update 2016: As promised, I’ve finally posted a new video and more detailed photos of this woman sculpture entitled “Ascendance” currently located in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Please check out it out here: ‘Ascendance’ by McCallister Sculpture.
Very cool! I like the rocks spilling out at the bottom

Thanks for noticing! I thought it would add a good environmental element to the piece.

I’ve yet to have a gallery shoot with this american woman. But I have some on my instagram/ FB! I’m currently using this technique to produce a ton of other larger-scale sculptures, so thank you for the motivation!

Ever thought of making an angel? it could be filled with whiteish calcareous chunks and have a sort of flaming sword with red riverbed stones. I´d trully love to see that one!

That’s a great vision Alex! If I get a commission for an angel like that, I’ll make sure to post the photos here, so stay tuned! I’ve actually made a sword for a previous sculpture, you can see it here: https://mccallistersculpture.com/2013/08/27/blind-justice-sculpture/
