I produced this ceramic sculpture in reference to my love for the desert.  When I was little I lived for one year in Phoenix Arizona, and four  years in Houston Texas.  The most memorable thing about the desert was the color pallet.  The clear bright blue skies, matched with endless variety of oranges, reds, and yellows.

All of these colors cover mountains and cliffs that are eroded by the wind creating organic sweeping forms which look unnatural for solid rock.  The Moab Desert in the U.S. is known for its massive rock archways which is partly what this sculpture is modeled after.
